Mekong Prestige Cruise

Nous avons fait une croisière de Saïgon à Siem Reap sur le bateau "Mekong Prestige". Ce bateau était très agréable. La cabine bien agencée et spacieuse. Les repas étaient très bons. Visites et excursions bien équilibrées. Merci à Mattias, le responsable de la croisière à Hoï et Vanna, nos 2 guides en français . (Nous étions 25 français ).Tous étaient très professionnels, donnant de nombreuses explications durant les visites. Ils étaient à l'écoute, disponibles et chaleureux . Félicitations à tout l'équipage du bateau qui étaient au petit soin pour les croisiéristes. Grand Merci à vous ,Mme Hong Nham, pour cette parfaite organisation.

There were only 49 people on the cruise. All cabins booked but a lot of singles.
80 % were French-speaking, 10% German-speaking and 10% English-speaking. The Cruise Director was Matthias and provided all updates and presentations in all languages. Most of the crew could speak some English - which seemed a common language for all simple requests - drinks, food, payments etc.
Tour guides were provided in each language in both Vietnam and Cambodia.
Could not fault the Cruise Director - went above & beyond. Both the English-speaking guides were great. Very informative, fun to be with and good people.
The shore excursions were well organized and as-per the itinerary. The quality of what you see would be based on your expectations. Village walks were good as was the school visit. There are a few temples to visit (ABT). The impromptu Tuk Tuk race through Phnom Penh at night was a real highlight. The view of the Mekong River from the temple on the hill was fantastic as we're the sunrise and sunset snaps.
Food quality was a little above average - about 3-4 star. Some dishes were great and some below par. Asian attempts at Western deserts did not work. Lots of variety and volume so you always find something.
Beer, local spirits and cocktails were great and free. Cocktail of the day didn't work as it was often a weird mixture that didn't taste nice. Should stick to the "standards".
Wine was very hit and miss. Some reasonably priced bottles sold-out within 2 days and then the next price point was above usd$40. Hard to find something at the right price. Even after restocking in Phnom Penh there did not seem much in stock. Whole system needs a make-over.
Ship facilities - room was good - small but functional. Dining area good. Inside deck area was a challenge between the 3 language groups when there were presentations. Outside area was shaded with table and chairs. No designated area for smokers - large % of the French smoked. There was no protection from the wind - most days were windy. The pool / spa held about 6-8 people. No bubbles and very cold. Had underwater seating but your mouth was submerged if less than 6' tall. Gym had an ok bike and treadmill. 2 spa suites had various services. Massages were good and reasonably priced.
Was a good trip and met some nice people.

Ms Hong Nham, from Inside Travel, organized an 8 day Mekong River Cruise on the Mekong Prestige 2. Communication from the initial request for information to booking to follow up after the cruise was always timely and clear. Pricing for the cruise was better than competitors and there were absolutely no hidden surprises.

I would highly recommend using Inside Teavel and Ms. Nham, and have already requested information on other activities in Vietnam.

Organised a 7 night Mekong River cruise through Ms Hong Nham from Inside Travel on the Mekong Prestige 2.
She was wonderful. Nothing was too difficult for her. She always replied quickly and was always super friendly.
Had a fantastic time on the cruise, everything was taken care of and we could just relax and enjoy ourselves.
I would highly recommend using Nham, and will definitely be contacting her the next time we come to Vietnam or Cambodia.
